Unauthenticated API key access via unchecked AJAX actions
Published Mar 2, 2026 · Updated Mar 2, 2026
Missing authorization in AYS Pro AI ChatBot with ChatGPT and Content Generator by AYS 2.7.5 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter its API key. The unauthenticated WordPress AJAX actions expose get_chatgpt_api_key(), which returns the stored key, and store_data(), which writes attacker-supplied plugin settings without a capability check. No account or user interaction is required; an Internet-reachable WordPress site can expose, replace, or delete the configured key.
