Unauthenticated account access via unlimited login attempts
Published Sep 1, 2026 · Updated Sep 1, 2026
Authentication throttling failure in Schneider Electric PowerChute Serial Shutdown 1.5 and earlier allows remote attackers to access user accounts. When redirect handling is disabled, the authentication path accepts an arbitrary number of login attempts without enforcing an attempt limit. The web interface is network reachable without prior authentication, and successful password guessing exposes data available to the compromised account.
