Authenticated command execution via traceroute command injection
Published Jan 22, 2026 · Updated Jan 22, 2026
Command injection in TOTOLINK NR1800X firmware 9.1.0u.6279_B20210910 allows remote authenticated users to execute operating-system commands. The setTracerouteCfg function in /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi passes the POST request's command value into a shell command without neutralizing shell metacharacters. A low-privileged management session is required, and successful exploitation can read or alter router data or interrupt its services.
