CVE-2026-13213

Adjacent crash via pre-registration NULL attribute dereference

Published Aug 24, 2026 · Updated Aug 24, 2026

NULL pointer dereference in Zephyr RTOS 3.6.0 through 4.4.1 allows physically proximate attackers to crash HAS peripherals over Bluetooth. Before service registration, security_changed() schedules notify_work_handler from restored bonded-client flags, and bt_gatt_is_subscribed() receives a NULL attribute pointer. Exploitation requires CONFIG_BT_SETTINGS, prior bonding, renewed security during boot before bt_has_register(), and causes only a peripheral crash without memory corruption or disclosure.
