Metadata disclosure via decrypt-versus-parse padding oracle
Published Jul 22, 2026 · Updated Jul 22, 2026
Information disclosure in Telerik UI for ASP.NET AJAX before 2026.2.708 allows remote attackers to reveal protected upload metadata. RadAsyncUpload returns distinguishable outcomes when client-state decryption fails and when decrypted text fails JSON parsing, exposing a padding oracle. Exposure requires RadAsyncUpload and nonuniform remote error responses; no authentication or encryption-key knowledge is required, and the direct impact is metadata disclosure.
