Administrator code execution via unchecked demo import
Published Aug 1, 2026 · Updated Aug 1, 2026
Arbitrary file upload in Everest Toolkit 1.2.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users with import access to execute PHP code. The demo-content import handler disables WordPress's file-type test and stores an attacker-supplied PHP file in the web-accessible uploads directory. An Everest Themes theme must activate the importer, and Administrator access is required by default; multisite site administrators also qualify.
