Resource exhaustion via scan-method memory leak
Published Sep 4, 2026 · Updated Sep 4, 2026
A memory leak in Softing smartLink HW-PN 1.04 through versions before 1.10 allows remote authenticated users to exhaust device memory. The scan method retains allocated memory after its effective lifetime instead of releasing it when the scan completes. Low-privileged network access is required; repeated scans consume finite resources and can impair dependent operations.
