Authenticated session metadata disclosure via $listSessions
Published Jul 22, 2026 · Updated Jul 22, 2026
Incorrect authorization in MongoDB Server 7.0, 8.0, and 8.3 allows remote authenticated users to read other users' session metadata. The $listSessions aggregation stage returns active session identifiers, associated usernames, and activity timestamps across users without enforcing the documented cluster-level listSessions privilege. Any authenticated account that can invoke the stage can cross the normal per-user boundary, but the reported impact is limited to session metadata disclosure.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=7.0 <7.0.39
