Authenticated server crash via unbounded array expressions
Published Jul 22, 2026 · Updated Jul 22, 2026
Resource exhaustion in MongoDB Server 8.0.0 through 8.0.27 and 8.3.0 through 8.3.6 allows remote authenticated users to crash the server. During query-expression evaluation, the server materializes attacker-sized intermediate arrays without enforcing an aggregate memory bound, exhausting process memory. Read access is sufficient to submit the crafted query, and successful exploitation interrupts database availability without reported data disclosure or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=8.0 <8.0.28
