Browser script execution via unescaped AJAX error
Published Jul 27, 2026 · Updated Jul 27, 2026
Reflected XSS in Document Gallery before 5.1.1 allows remote attackers to execute script in a visitor's browser through an AJAX request. The dg_generate_gallery handler inserts an invalid atts[descriptions] value into its HTML error response without output encoding. Exploitation requires a visitor to open an attacker-crafted request; the resulting script runs in the site's origin and can read or alter data available to that browser session.
