Attacker-controlled URL launches via exported CommandService
Published Jul 3, 2026 · Updated Jul 3, 2026
Improper component export in ASUS Router App 1.0.0.9.71 and earlier allows local users to open attacker-controlled URLs via crafted Intents. The bundled Baidu Push SDK exposes CommandService without a permission check, then trusts a PublicMsg from the incoming Intent and passes its URL to ACTION_VIEW. Exploitation requires a third-party Android app on the same device; it can launch phishing pages or prefill SMS, phone, email, store, and map actions under the trusted app's identity.
