Stored cross-site scripting via unsafe schema serialization
Published Feb 6, 2026 · Updated Feb 6, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in Yoast SEO 26.8 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through a yoast-schema block attribute. Schema_Generator inserts the attribute into the schema graph, and Schema_Presenter serializes that graph without tag-safe encoding before placing it in a script element. Contributor-level access is required to store the payload; the script runs in the browser of each user who visits the affected page.
