Authenticated gallery overwrite via user-controlled shortcode ID
Published Jun 13, 2026 · Updated Jun 13, 2026
Authorization bypass in Meow Apps Meow Gallery 5.4.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to create or overwrite gallery shortcodes. The save_shortcode REST endpoint accepts a user-controlled id and performs database writes without checking authority over the referenced gallery record. Author-level access is sufficient to replace another gallery shortcode or create a new record, affecting stored gallery data integrity.
