Authenticated media attachment creation via unchecked imports
Published Jul 1, 2026 · Updated Jul 1, 2026
Missing authorization in Kadence Blocks 3.7.7 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to create arbitrary Media Library attachments. The kadence_import_process_pattern and kadence_import_process_data AJAX actions accept contributor-controlled remote image URLs and invoke wp_upload_bits() and wp_insert_attachment() without enforcing the upload_files capability. Contributor-level access is required; the result is a server-side download into the uploads directory and a new attachment record, not reported code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
