Information disclosure via unchecked aspect-ratio table index
Published Jun 23, 2026 · Updated Jun 23, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in GStreamer gst-plugins-bad on Red Hat Enterprise Linux allows attackers to disclose adjacent process memory. In gst_h266_parse_vui_parameters(), an 8-bit aspect_ratio_idc value indexes the 17-entry aspect_ratios table without validating that the value is 16 or lower. Processing a crafted H.266 file or stream in a GStreamer-based application is required; the read can expose adjacent global data through pixel-aspect-ratio metadata.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
