Contributor-level stored XSS via template import
Published Jul 16, 2026 · Updated Jul 16, 2026
Stored XSS in Header Footer Builder for Elementor before 1.2.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in visitors' browsers. The tahefobu_dashboard_import AJAX action accepts any edit_posts user and publishes imported Elementor HTML widget data without neutralizing embedded event handlers. Contributor access and active Elementor are required; a site-wide template runs the stored payload for unauthenticated visitors and administrators who load any front-end page.
