CVE-2026-12848Network attack vector

Unauthenticated code execution via unchecked DNS copy

Published Jun 24, 2026 · Updated Jun 24, 2026

Stack-based buffer overflow in GeoVision GV-I/O Box 4E 2.09 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via UDP requests. The default DVRSearch service handles CMD_IP_SET on UDP port 10001 and copies the attacker-controlled DNS value into reply_buf at offset 248 using its unchecked strlen length. Network access alone is sufficient; a crafted request can overwrite control data and execute code on the appliance or crash DVRSearch.
