Local privilege escalation via unrestricted raw disk access
Published Jun 21, 2026 · Updated Jun 21, 2026
Improper access control in EaseUS Partition Master 14.0 through 14.5 allows local users to read and write protected disk data. The EUEDKEPM.sys kernel driver exposes a caller-selected disk device to standard users and forwards raw reads and writes without enforcing Windows access checks. Medium-integrity local access is sufficient to bypass file and raw-disk permissions, enabling protected-data disclosure or tampering and privilege escalation when modified data controls privileged code or configuration.
