CVE-2026-12779Public exploit

Local privilege escalation via unrestricted raw disk forwarding

Published Jun 21, 2026 · Updated Jun 21, 2026

Local privilege escalation in AOMEI Dynamic Disk Manager 10.10.0 and 10.10.1 allows local users to access protected raw disks. The ddmdrv.sys kernel driver exposes the \.\ddmwrt device to standard users and forwards raw reads and writes under kernel authority without enforcing Windows disk-access checks. Medium-integrity access is sufficient to read or alter protected disk sectors, enabling tampering with boot records, registry hives, file-system structures, or privileged files.
