Authenticated content unpublishing via unchecked AJAX action
Published Jul 11, 2026 · Updated Jul 11, 2026
Authorization bypass in WP Easy Pay 4.5.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to unpublish arbitrary WordPress posts and pages. The wpep_draft_confirm AJAX handler accepts an attacker-selected post identifier and changes its status to draft without verifying the user's capability for that post. Subscriber-level access is sufficient, and the effect is limited to removing selected content from public view rather than reading data or executing code.
