Unauthenticated phishing via password-reset email HTML injection
Published Jul 20, 2026 · Updated Jul 20, 2026
HTML injection in Themeum Kirki before 6.0.12 allows remote attackers to send registered users crafted password-reset email content. The kirki-forgot-password REST route accepts emailSubject and emailBody request values and renders them unescaped in a text/html message. Exploitation requires a public forgot-password form, its guest nonce, and a known account address; the delivered phishing content still requires recipient interaction.
