CVE-2026-12701Network attack vector

Administrator file overwrite via traversal validation bypass

Published Jul 20, 2026 · Updated Jul 20, 2026

Path traversal in pulpcore FilesystemExport allows remote authenticated users to write files outside the configured export directory. The relative_path_validator rejects absolute paths but accepts embedded ../ sequences, so os.path.join writes an uploaded artifact outside the export path. Reachability requires administrator access and a configured FilesystemExport; writes run as the pulp service user and remain bounded by filesystem permissions and SELinux policy.
