Application crash via Object.prototype method overrides
Published Jun 19, 2026 · Updated Jun 19, 2026
Uncaught exception in Voodoo Creation ts-deepmerge before 8.0.0 allows remote attackers to crash applications via crafted objects. The merge function copies keys such as toString or valueOf with non-function values because its unsafe-key blocklist omits Object.prototype methods, causing string coercion to throw a TypeError. Exploitation requires an application to merge attacker-controlled object data and then use the merged result in a string context; the consequence is a process crash.
