CVE-2026-12628Network attack vector

Unauthenticated resource access via hardcoded FCM credential

Published Jun 22, 2026 · Updated Jun 22, 2026

Authentication bypass in IBM Storage Protect Client and Snapshot for Windows 8.1.0.0 through 8.2.1.0 allows remote attackers to access services. The FlashCopy Manager authentication paths embed a static credential and fail to validate authentication responses before establishing a trusted session. A network-reachable Backup-Archive Client listening service in a standalone Windows configuration is required; exploitation permits client impersonation and unauthorized resource access.
