Entry-name disclosure via trailing-slash path normalization
Published Aug 10, 2026 · Updated Aug 10, 2026
Incorrect authorization in HashiCorp Vault allows remote authenticated users to enumerate denied entry names through crafted LIST requests. The ACL policy engine strips a trailing slash before its prefix lookup, so a broader parent allow rule wins over the more specific wildcard deny rule. Reachability requires a token with that exact policy combination, and exposure is limited to entry names rather than secret values or added capabilities.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
