Unauthenticated account takeover via unchecked password reset
Published Aug 2, 2026 · Updated Aug 2, 2026
Improper authentication in Ogun Labs Lenxel WP 1.0.31 and earlier allows remote attackers to take over any account via password reset. The reset action runs on the WordPress init hook, validates only a page nonce, and accepts attacker-supplied user_id, password, and cpassword values without authorization or ownership checks. A reset-password-template page must be published; remote attackers can obtain its nonce without authentication and replace an administrator password.
