Stored XSS via decoded raw HTML shortcode
Published Aug 25, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026
Stored XSS in tagDiv Composer 5.4.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through vc_raw_html shortcodes. The vc_raw_html::render() method decodes base64 content only after WordPress filters the stored shortcode, then concatenates the decoded HTML into page output without escaping. Contributor-level access is sufficient, and the injected script runs in the browser of anyone who opens or previews the affected page.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
