Arbitrary post editing via unchecked image IDs
Published Feb 14, 2026 · Updated Feb 14, 2026
Authorization bypass in WPChill Modula Image Gallery 2.13.6 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to modify arbitrary posts. The update_images_meta path accepts post IDs from the REST API modulaImages field, and batch_update_images writes their title, excerpt, and content without checking edit_post capability. Contributor-level access and permission to edit a gallery are sufficient; the consequence is unauthorized modification of posts and pages, not code execution.
