CVE-2026-1253Network attack vector

Subscriber-level option modification via unchecked AJAX handlers

Published Mar 21, 2026 · Updated Mar 21, 2026

Missing authorization in AtomChat 1.1.7 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to modify WordPress plugin options via AJAX requests. The atomchat_update_auth_ajax and atomchat_update_layout_ajax handlers write request-supplied values to plugin options without checking user capabilities. Subscriber-level access is sufficient to replace API keys, authentication keys, and layout settings, altering configuration without directly disclosing data or executing code.
