Unauthenticated payment bypass via unchecked PayPal IPN
Published Aug 6, 2026 · Updated Aug 6, 2026
Payment validation bypass in Digital Thrive Labs Inc. WP Travel Engine before 6.8.2 allows remote attackers to mark bookings fully paid. The PayPal Standard IPN handler accepts a verified callback without comparing receiver_email to the configured merchant or mc_gross to the booking total. PayPal Standard must be selected, and an unauthenticated attacker must obtain a booking payment key and make a token payment to an attacker-controlled account, causing fraudulent booking completion without merchant payment.
