Local file disclosure via unchecked virtual datasets
Published Jul 1, 2026 · Updated Jul 1, 2026
Information disclosure in Keras before 3.12.2 and 3.13.0 through 3.14.0 allows local users to read process-accessible HDF5 files. KerasFileEditor reads HDF5 leaf datasets with value[()] without rejecting dataset.is_virtual, causing h5py to resolve attacker-supplied source mappings. Exploitation requires a victim to load an untrusted .keras or .h5 file, and disclosure is limited to HDF5 files readable by the Keras process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
