Unauthenticated account takeover via unchecked AJAX update
Published Jun 27, 2026 · Updated Jun 27, 2026
Privilege escalation in Invoice Generator 1.0.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to take over WordPress accounts via an AJAX request. The unauthenticated pravel_invoice_edit_account handler trusts POST-supplied user_id and user_email values and passes them to wp_update_user() without authorization, ownership, or nonce checks. Network access to admin-ajax.php is sufficient to replace an administrator's email and use the password-reset flow to gain that account.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
