Unauthenticated attachment deletion via exposed AJAX nonce
Published Jul 9, 2026 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Missing authorization in weDevs WP User Frontend 4.3.7 and earlier allows remote attackers to delete guest-uploaded media. The wpuf_file_del AJAX handler accepts an attacker-selected attach_id after checking only wpuf_nonce, while rendered WPUF shortcodes publish that nonce in frontend JavaScript and no ownership or capability check protects attachments with post_author 0. Any unauthenticated visitor can reach the deletion path when a frontend page renders a WPUF shortcode, but deletion is limited to zero-author media such as guest and registration-form uploads.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
