Unauthenticated administrator access via unchecked registration role
Published Jul 27, 2026 · Updated Jul 27, 2026
Privilege escalation in AppGlut MemberGlut before 1.1.5 allows remote attackers to create administrator accounts through front-end registration. The registration handler accepts the submitted default_role value and assigns it to the new WordPress account without restricting it to permitted member roles. A published registration page and enabled user registration expose the flow, after which the new account is auto-logged in with site-administration rights.
