Author-level stored XSS via gallery theme setting
Published Mar 4, 2026 · Updated Mar 4, 2026
Stored XSS in Awesome Motive Envira Gallery 1.12.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts via gallery settings. The REST API accepts justified_gallery_theme, and the shortcode renderer incorporates its stored value into gallery output without sufficient sanitization or escaping. Author-level access is required, and the script executes in a visitor's browser whenever an affected gallery page is opened.
