CVE-2026-12283Network attack vector

Unintended data disclosure via crafted table name

Published Jul 17, 2026 · Updated Jul 17, 2026

SQL injection in Amazon Athena Query Federation 2022.20.1 through 2026.19.1 allows remote authenticated users to read unintended Synapse data. The Synapse connector inserts a crafted Azure Synapse table name into an Athena-constructed query without neutralizing SQL syntax, causing injected read-only commands to execute. Exploitation requires access to create a malicious table in the Azure Synapse account and to have that table queried through the Athena Synapse connector; the reported consequence is unintended data disclosure only.
