Unauthorized account creation via AJAX registration action
Published Jul 10, 2026 · Updated Jul 10, 2026
Incorrect authorization in LA-Studio Element Kit for Elementor before 1.6.1 allows remote attackers to create default-role accounts. The public lakit_ajax dispatcher accepts a register action and creates a user without checking WordPress's users_can_register setting. A public page containing the plugin's registration or login form widget must expose the front-end nonce; successful requests add a new default-role user even when site-wide registration is disabled.
