Unauthenticated administrative access via elevated role selection
Published Jul 31, 2026 · Updated Jul 31, 2026
Privilege escalation in Ultimate Member before 2.12.1 allows remote attackers to gain administrative access through registration role selection. Registration forms expose site-defined roles without filtering administrator-level capabilities, while the post-registration elevated-account safeguard is disabled by default. Exploitation requires a published form with a role-selection field and an existing selectable role carrying an administrator capability.
