CVE-2026-12198Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated file read and write via path traversal

Published Jun 15, 2026 · Updated Jun 15, 2026

Path traversal in Microweber 2.0.20 and earlier allows remote attackers to read files and write to chosen paths without authentication. The public thumbnail_img endpoint passes cache_path_relative through normalize_path, which preserves ../ sequences, before using it in filesystem path construction. An existing target is returned directly, while path-controlled writes require a local SVG source; both operations escape the thumbnail cache boundary.
