Authenticated command execution via unescaped FTP username
Published Jul 4, 2026 · Updated Jul 4, 2026
OS command injection in myVesta Control Panel allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as the admin user. The FTP username deletion path in web/edit/web/index.php appends v_ftp_user to a shell command and passes it to exec() without shell-argument escaping. A low-privileged panel account with access to FTP username deletion can inject shell metacharacters, causing commands to run with the panel admin user’s privileges.
