Administrative session hijacking via cached connection reuse
Published Jun 23, 2026 · Updated Jun 23, 2026
Improper authentication in Red Hat Satellite 6.18 and Red Hat Satellite 6.19 allows local users to hijack active administrative MCP sessions. AuthMiddleware stores an authenticated ForemanApi client in user_map under a non-secret mcp-session-id, then reuses it without validating the new foreman_token. Read access to INFO logs supplies a live session ID; hijacked requests inherit the victim's RBAC rights, enabling arbitrary Satellite API actions and, when remote execution is enabled, infrastructure-wide code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
