Unauthenticated administrator-role restoration via unchecked reset-for
Published Jul 6, 2026 · Updated Jul 6, 2026
Privilege escalation in Bowo ASE and ASE Pro 7.6.3 through 8.8.3 allows remote attackers to restore a demoted administrator role. The role-restoration handler trusts the reset-for username without authentication, authorization, or nonce validation and reapplies a stored administrator role. Exploitation requires prior use of View Admin as Role followed by demotion through the uncorrected path; restored access still requires the account credentials.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
