Authenticated SQL injection via restore-point interpolation
Published Jun 18, 2026 · Updated Jun 18, 2026
SQL injection in pgAdmin 4 before 9.16 allows remote authenticated users to execute SQL through the named restore point endpoint. ServerNode.create_restore_point inserts the request's value field into SELECT pg_create_restore_point with str.format() instead of a bound parameter. Exploitation requires a connected PostgreSQL session, and injected statements run only with the user's existing database role, though they bypass Query Tool controls.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
