Root command execution via unescaped group parameters
Published Nov 1, 2026 · Updated Nov 1, 2026
Command injection in Wavlink WN553X1-B 260403_2.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute root commands via WireGuard group requests. The sub_41A748 function in /bin/ioos inserts group_id and group_name into single-quoted UCI commands without escaping and passes the strings to system(). Exploitation requires a valid session and access to the management interface, granting control of the router rather than merely changing VPN settings.
