Authenticated course-progress disclosure via unchecked userId
Published Jul 1, 2026 · Updated Jul 1, 2026
IDOR in ThimPress LearnPress 4.3.9.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read privileged users' course progress data. The frontend lazy-load REST controller accepts a userId value and resolves that account without verifying that the requester is authorized to view it. Subscriber-level access is sufficient, but the target must be an instructor or administrator; the guard blocks cross-subscriber access.
