Site takeover via injected update-package backdoor
Published Aug 6, 2026 · Updated Aug 6, 2026
Supply-chain backdoor in MonsterInsights Pro 10.2.0 through 10.2.2 allows remote attackers to take control of WordPress sites. The compromised official S3 update bucket inserted class-system-check.php, which redirects future plugin updates, creates a persistent administrator account, and accepts an authentication-bypass GET parameter. The malicious PHP reaches a site when an affected official package is installed or updated, and its administrator access persists after plugin removal.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
