Unauthenticated file modification via broken AJAX guard
Published Jun 20, 2026 · Updated Jun 20, 2026
Missing authorization in Simple File List 6.3.7 and earlier allows remote attackers to modify or delete server files through AJAX. The simplefilelist_edit_job handler treats is_admin() as authorization, but admin-ajax.php makes that check true before AllowFrontManage is evaluated. No account or enabled front-end management setting is required, and successful requests can alter or remove files reachable by the plugin.
