Unauthenticated file deletion via eeSubFolder traversal
Published Jun 20, 2026 · Updated Jun 20, 2026
Path traversal in Mitchell Bennis Simple File List 6.3.7 and earlier allows remote attackers to delete arbitrary server files. The simplefilelist_edit_job AJAX handler passes the unauthenticated eeSubFolder value into eeSFL_DeleteFile without confining the resolved path to the file-list directory. Because the action uses wp_ajax_nopriv_ and its is_admin() guard is true for admin-ajax.php, no account or user interaction is required; deleting wp-config.php can enable remote code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
