Administrator-level stored XSS via unescaped plugin settings
Published Jan 24, 2026 · Updated Jan 24, 2026
Stored XSS in freemp JavaScript Notifier 1.2.8 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts via plugin settings. The wp_footer action renders user-supplied setting values without sufficient input sanitization or output escaping, preserving attacker-controlled script in generated pages. Administrator access is required to save the payload; any visitor who loads the affected output executes it in the site's origin.
