CVE-2026-11885

Hypervisor crash and memory corruption via oversized call

Published Jul 30, 2026 · Updated Jul 30, 2026

Buffer overflow in IBM PowerVM Hypervisor firmware allows guest OS users to crash the hypervisor or corrupt OS memory via a crafted call. The hypervisor-call processing path accepts attacker-controlled input without enforcing its size, but IBM has not disclosed the handler or destination buffer. Low-privilege guest OS access is required; affected firmware is FW1110.00 through FW1110.20, FW1060.00 through FW1060.71, and FW950.00 through FW950.H1.
